Early Registration for august

  • Registration opens for everyone else tomorrow (the 15th) at 7am, so take advantage of this early registration period if you want to snag your spot for June.

  • After you book, MAKE SURE YOU CAN FIND YOUR REGISTRATION EMAIL. In that email, under the section “Messages” is all your class info as well as the Member Page link for August. You’ll need to be able to find it to know all that’s happening for the month, the door code, practice times, meetups/socials, studio news….everything.

 

Studio Membership & August Workshop

 

Studio Membership For august

  • Open to anyone who has taken a class with us (or has equivalent experience)

  • Access the studio 24/7 to create, be sure to check member page for best practice times & door code

  • Perfect if you need more flexibility than a fixed class time or want to take a month to practice what you learned in class

  • No outside clays allowed. Outside glaze allowed with permission. No production/high volume work.

  • If your budget allows, consider taking the glazing workshop with Rob. $35 to troubleshoot anything and everything glaze and get the best results. HERE is a link if you’re interested.

August workshop: Glazing help

  • Perfect if you’re not getting the glaze results you want and aren’t sure why

  • Get help troubleshooting what went wrong and get some ideas for creative glazing

  • Highly recommend for Beginners/Advanced Beginners, or anyone who has had glaze run, has bald spots, or just is finding their work a little…ugly lol.

  • $35 for 3 hours of instruction on glazing on Saturday, August 22nd from 1-4pm

  • Class dates: 4 Sunday nights in August from 7pm to 9pm (on August 2nd, 9th, 16th, and the last class will be on the 23rd). Remember that this class comes with a free studio membership that lasts until the last day of the month.   • What will I learn?: This class will cover the basic and intermediate skills of handbuilding. Projects will be student-led with plenty of inspiration for any who need it. Possibilities range from functional pots to sculptures.

Throwing bigger, Monday Nights

  • Perfect for anyone who has taken the other Beyond Beginner Class (Plates & Better Trimming) OR who has taken both Beginning Wheel classes and above- you can always use these skills.

  • Prerequisites for this class: Completion of both Beginner Wheel Cups & Mugs and Beginner Wheel Bowls, or the equivalent experience.

  • What you’ll learn: How to make vases, pitchers & covered jars, as well as refining your handle game.  This is the class where you’ll begin to refine your skills and prepare for intermediate and advanced wheel classes.

Intermediate & Advanced Wheel and Handbuilding Classes

Int/adv wheel with kyle, tuesday nights

  • Perfect for anyone who’s ready to push their skills and wants to learn how to make a teapot from start to finish.

  • Class Dates: 4 Tuesday nights in August from 7-9pm (on August 4th, 11th, 18th, and the last class will be on the 25th). Remember that this class comes with a free studio membership that lasts until the last day of the month. This allows you to come in outside of class and practice, just be sure to check the member page to know when other class times and parties are before heading in.

  • Prerequisites for this class: You must be able to center, pull basic forms, glaze & trim without assistance. We will not be covering foundational techniques in this class.

  • What you’ll do: You’ll be learning all of the steps to make a beautiful and functional teapot, with loads of support along the way. It’s one of the most challenging forms to get right (anyone can just make one, but it’s hard to make it correctly), and there are lots of tips and tricks to make sure it pours well and feels good to use.

dirty ladies & lads, int/adv wheel with rob, wednesday mornings

  • Perfect for anyone who’s ready to push their skills and wants a class where they can suggest projects.

  • Class Dates: 4 Wednesday mornings in August from 10:30am to noon thirty (on August 5th, 12th, 19th, and the last class will be on the 26th). Remember that this class comes with a free studio membership that lasts until the last day of the month. This allows you to come in outside of class and practice, just be sure to check the member page to know when other class times and parties are before heading in.

  • Prerequisites for this class: You must be able to center, pull basic forms, glaze & trim without assistance. We will not be covering foundational techniques in this class.

  • What you’ll do: Class projects are varied and open-ended, with students able to suggest what they’d like to learn. Lots of good ideas come from seeing other potter’s work and be curious about the process.
